Are you afraid to fail? Or maybe you’re afraid to succeed?

Either one you choose these fears can forever hold you hostage in a paralyzed state. Before you know it days, weeks, months, years, even decades have passed and you haven’t moved an iota ahead. I don’t know about your but that thought alone makes me want to get in action NOW!

Well, you don’t have to be paralyzed with fear and let your most precious dreams pass you by. You have the power to do something about it right now! You can live the life you deserve.

I made this little video for you that first breaks down what the fear of failure and fear of success is and then provides a few steps on how to over come it. Watch it now and banish your fears once and for all!

As you can see success doesn’t have to be fleeting. In fact is is your BIRTHRIGHT to be completely successful, fabulous and live the live you deserve.

So next time you find yourself fearing success or failure remember these golden nuggets:

  • Change the word “Failure” into “Feedback” -  Doing this allows you to step into your power.  You realize that what ever happened is momentary and YOU have the power to change it by changing your opinion about it.
  • Try and try again - You’ve heard this one before but it’s true.  In order to be in the game you must continue playing the game.  If Michael Jordan had given up just because he got cut off his high school basketball team think about what the world of basketball would have lost.  Hard to fathom, right?  Well it’s the same thing with you.  I can hear you thinking, “Well, I’m no Michael Jordan.”  True but we all have greatness in us and sometimes it’s dormant and we awaken it by trying and trying again.
  • Depersonalize your experience – This is a biggie.  It’s hard not to take things personally.  If someone doesn’t like what our product or service is it’s really hard not to take it personally.  All successful people know this skill.  It’s about letting it roll off your back.  Knowing it’s not about you.  Maybe the person who hung up on you was having a bad day, or had a fight with their spouse, found out some bad news, or simply couldn’t focus on whatever you were selling at the moment.  No matter what it is know it’s not about you. The more you are able to not take things personally the quicker you’ll be able to bounce back.
  • You are worth it – I was recently reading Eat Pray Love and the author talked about in American culture we feel we must earn a break, or do to something nice for ourselves we must work hard for it, whereas in other parts of the world it’s a given, they know they deserve it.  What I took away from that is being worthy isn’t about what you do but it’s about we all were born worthy.  When we quit thinking we have to earn being worthy then we allow the magic to happen.  You never know what gifts are waiting for you but your lack of worthiness keeps them at bay.  Say it loud and proud, “I’m worthy!”
  • Surround yourself with inspiration – Spend time and think about what inspired you and surround yourself with it.  We all go through ups and downs so it’s important that when you have your down periods you have things around you that keep you going.  Maybe it’s getting a quote and placing it on your desk, or a special book you keep on your nightstand, or music that picks you up no matter what mood.  Ask yourself, what keeps you inspired?  Then go from there.

Okay so there you have it folks.  Now it’s your turn to share how you eliminate the fear of success or the fear of failure.  Share your brilliant comments below and be sure to share it with your friends on Twitter and Facebook and other social bookmarking sites.  Thank you, I appreciate you!

You make some very good points. What most people see as failure isn’t really failure as much as it is feedback that something needs to be tweaked a little bit. I find fear of success to be very interesting and I think it is what holds most people back. The fact that we have the idea in the first place means that you are worthy of that success and that we have the ability to maintain that success.
