The (real) Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

I sat in the dark theater trying my best not to do the ugly cry, but I couldn’t help it. So with my black mascara running, bottom lip quivering, and snot dripping down my nose, I watched the final moments of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

If you haven’t seen it, it’s about two lovers (impeccably played by Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey) who go to extreme lengths to forget about one another after breaking up. After finding out Clementine (Kate Winslet) had the memories of their relationship erased Joel (Jim Carrey) decides to do the same.

Revisiting this movie made me think about the great lengths we go to to forget our hurt, pain, anger, sadness and shame. While these characters used a futuristic procedure to forget most of us try to erase the past through numbing ourselves with food, entertainment, alcohol, sex, drugs and toxic relationships and behaviors.

However, no matter how hard we try to get away from the pain, it seems to always find us again.

But what if I told you there was a way to wipe the slate clean and start over?

8 Surprising Signs You Need A Coach

Over the years, I’ve met many women and men with big dreams and big visions who’ve spent years going around in circles. They’re caught in a cycle sometimes conscious, sometimes unconscious of self-sabotage, fear, and patterns and/or behaviors that derail their best intentions.

Sometimes the cycle is more subtle, but the end result is the same:

They aren’t living the life they truly want.

For many of them it was just the lightbulb moment they needed. There were a few who had considered it in the past, but the vast majority of people I’ve encountered didn’t realize they even needed a coach or that it was an option for the challenges they were facing.

And I get it.

Unless you grew up with parents who not only instilled the importance of getting support but also mirrored it for you, many of us, go at it alone in life.

I went at it alone for a long time simply because I didn’t know there was another way. When I first started working with coaches it was a leap of faith and I didn’t know what to expect.

However, I can say working with coaches has changed both my life and business. Simply put, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love, support and accountability of my amazing coaches and mentors.

Rise + Shine Your Light {free workshop}

2016 was quite a year, and it’s not over yet!

There’s not one person I know who didn’t experience a major life event this year. What differentiated this year from others is that in 2016 many of us were pushed to our edge, which actually is the perfect set up for 2017.

As we head into the new year, I believe we are collectively being asked to rise and step into our power.

We are being asked to let go of fear and step into faith.

We are being asked to let go of our baggage and stand in our light.

2017 is the year to stop hiding and GO FOR IT!

With everything going on in the world it can be hard to take a stand and be seen, and to operate from a space of faith. A lot of the things that happened in 2016 were devastating, and for many of us, the election results were the tipping point that sent us into a tailspin. It caused us to question EVERYTHING, and rightfully so.

However, after spending a lot of time in deep reflection I know this for sure:
